Q. How do I replace the hickory handle?
Hickory handles are easy to replace with a few tools: you need a pencil, mallet, handsaw, workbench or block of wood, and a replacement handle. Avoid driving the handle too far into the hammer head, as this can damage its lacquered surface and weaken it. Instead, tap it snugly into place and secure it using a wood wedge and two steel wedges for a strong connection.
